Having had solar panels fitted, I rang my energy company with the reading which I was told it was not generating enough energy. I rang the firm and was told that they had gone into liquidation, (so what now) I didn’t think any other company would come and check them.
I looked in the yellow pages and chose DOC Solar & Electrical Solutions, what a relief when director Dr Derek Green said he would come out and check them for us.
When he came he was the perfect gentleman. He checked everything, I only wish that we had chosen him in the first place (and not off a phone call) solar energy is a thing of the future and you do get pay back so choose a well known company like Dr Derek you won’t go wrong.

I talked to a number of companies specialising in solar panel installation before selecting DOC to carry out the work. I made this decision based on a number of factors – level of detail in the quotation, the experience of the company, customer relations, the experience of the company, customer relations, etc.
But I was mostly impressed by the pre-survey visit by the company salesman and the detailed survey carried out by the company’s specialist staff, who carried out the actual installation.
The installation was carried out very efficiently and professionally, with full consultation at every stage, and follow-up visits made to ensure all was in order. I’ll award 8 out of 10 at this stage and increase this to 10 out of 10 in a year’s time if the payback is as promised!

My first meeting with DOC Derek and Janet was when they arrived at my home in Pen-y-Fford, North Wales to talk about Solar Panels.
It was a very relaxed, friendly and informative time. I then received an estimate and after agreeing on price they arranged a time and date for the installation.
Janet phoned to say the scaffolding would arrive on Friday morning, sure enough 8:30am they arrived. By 10am the scaffolding was completely erected.
Next morning the DOC team arrived with two vans complete with all equipment and five well trained men. Three worked on the roof, two working in the loft and gable side of my home and fuse box areas. It was like a regimental operation each doing set tasks by mid afternoon everything came together, then Derek and Janet arrived.
The whole system was commissioned, the team cleaned up everywhere and left. The only sign of them being there was the solar panels and control equipment which was now installed. Fantastic job very, very clean and neat and working perfect.
Janet and Derek stayed for a while making sure I understood how the whole system worked.
Monday morning the scaffolding was removed and the site was left as they found it.
I am now looking at my generation meter watching the Kilowatt numbers increasing. You could not improve such a well organised team and service.

Hi Janet,
It is over two weeks now since the solar panels were installed and as we are all too aware the weather has been atrocious since then. The first week was wet, windy, sunny for a few hours and then damp and dark. This week has been rain and then more rain, despite this terrible weather for mid July the Solar Panels will still have managed to produce 100 Kilo watts by the end of today. I know it is difficult after this short period of time to be certain that the full projected earnings will be met, but having seen the panels produce over 2 K.W per hour on several occasions during the last two weeks of very poor weather, I have every confidence that the full year on projections made by Derek will be met, if not it will be because of the poor weather and not due to any over optimistic projections by Derek.
I have to say I was impressed with Derek’s knowledge but more importantly with Derek’s honesty, which at one point lead to Derek advising me not have any panels installed as the cost would outweigh the benefits, it was only after I asked Derek if there were any other areas within my property where the panels may work effectively that the solution of placing them on our garage roof was explored, evaluated and agreed.
The installation of the panels was quick, clean and efficient, the roof was stripped where required and then refitted in the main without damage, where tiles were damaged or found damaged these damages were replaced, at no time was any attempt made to hide any issues or problems. The installation of the inverter, switches and meters as well as the replacement fuse box was immaculate and far surpassed any expectations I had. Your employees were courteous, well mannered and hard working as well as very informative if I asked any questions, they are a credit to you.
As you are aware I spent many days researching the benefits of having Solar panels installed, I also had 4 different surveys and quotes, to the layman it is a night mare trying to decide who is telling the truth and as to which is the best system or panels to have installed. As with any major expense of this type, you will normally have doubts as to whether or not you have made the right choice, however on this occasion I have no doubts and no qualms, I made the right choice and I can say that with certainty.
In finishing please pass my thanks on to your employees for a job well done, and please feel free to use this email as testimony to your good work, if at any time you wish to use our premises as a example or selling point please feel free to contact me.

From my first enquiry DOC should high levels of technical expertise, confidence in their product and commitment to their customers. No aggressive sales techniques were used and I found it most reassuring to deal with the same senior people throughout the project.
The team honoured all appointments punctually with installation being completed ahead of schedule. The technicians showed respect to our home, removing footwear at the door and working to obviously well-established clean-as-you-go procedures.
It was a pleasure to find that such high standards so still exist!

I would have no hesitation in recommending DOC to anyone considering a Solar PV installation. From the initial consultation, we were impressed with the knowledge of the options open to us, and all our questions were answered fully and honestly.
The installation was carried out over 2 and a half days exactly as promised. The first day was spent fitting the panels to the roof. The second was taken up with the installation of the inverter in the loft and the generation meter.
All the work was completed to a very high standard with the absolute minimum of disruption to ourselves. By lunchtime on the third day we were generating. All in all it was a first class service from beginning to end, and the system is performing well in advance of the performance estimates.

Hi Janet,
We had a number of quotes for installation of solar panels. Another company told us that we had a problem with chimneys casting shade for significant parts of the day, but had no solution. Derek Green from DOC went to a great deal of trouble getting data to look at the position of the sun throughout the year and positioned our panels so that the chimney problem had minimum impact.
We were very impressed with this expert approach and the professional job that was done by the team. They delivered on time and at the cost quoted, even though our slates made the job more difficult than expected. They gave us a lot of help also with registering the feed-in tariff scheme of our electricity supplier, which we found quite complicated. Excellent work and they have been happy to help us with any questions since the job was finished.
